Stakeholders from across air traffic and airport management recently came together at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to validate the SESAR’s* Airport Operations Centre (APOC*).

They made use of the portable virtual airport 'gaming' platform developed by ARC (CAST as a total airport simulation tool) and Airbus (stakeholder interface) in cooperation with EUROCONTROL in order to confirm how different stakeholders can collaboratively manage airport operations in both normal operations and adverse conditions.

This exercise was a great success and also tested for the first time the CAST interactive performance dashboard, which allows airport operational experts to pilot the platform in real-time.

Gérald Bastistella, Director Single European Sky (groupe adp): 'The performance improvements assessed during the exercise will be very useful in the future to improve passenger experience whilst benefiting airlines'.
