CAST Pedestrian is a multi-agent-based software solution which can be used to model person streams in public street space, traffic facilities and buildings. Thanks to the detailed modelling of microscopic movement behaviour and all of the relevant processes, users of this program can optimise the planning as well as operational implementation. In this way, they can shorten project running times while retaining simultaneous high quality of the planning.

With CAST Pedestrian, complete person-based processes can be modelled, from optimising the person security control of an airport all the way to evacuating a stadium.

Overview

CAST Pedestrian emerged from CAST Terminal, which has become well established in the airport sector and is the leading software in Germany and world-wide for the modelling of passenger streams. With CAST Pedestrian, this technology is now available for all person-related simulation applications. Furthermore the program provides an user-friendly interface.

CAST Pedestrian has been used successfully in the research project VeRSiert, and introduced into the recommended course of action to handle special occurrences at future large events in the city of Cologne’s traffic space.
